We are thrilled to announce our newest publication, Trees and Shrubs: a Guide for Montana Landscaping. These catalogs were created by MNLA members, for MNLA members, as a resource to use in your day-to-day work. They are a culmination of 3 years of effort, where we first built an online searchable plant database (www.plantsomethingmontana.org/catalog), and then compiled that information into this print catalog.

Up to this point, many of us  have been relying on plant information and catalogs from several different states that don't necessarily paint an accurate picture of how the plant performs in Montana's soils and micro-climates. The Tree and Shrubs catalog and website feature only Montana-grown, Montana-sold trees and shrubs, with their unique Montana-specific growth characteristics. Finally! Imagine being able to quickly find a plant (online or in the catalog) with a picture, description and growth habit, and then show it to your customers - with details that accurately demonstrate how the plant performs in Montana.

We hope these catalogs will prove a useful tool for Montana's green industry, and make your job of influencing clients to choose the right plant for the right place a little easier. 

We are grateful to have been awarded a Specialty Crop Block Grant from the Montana Department of Agriculture to undertake this project, and for the numerous contributions from MNLA members, our project interns, and staff for bringing this vision to life.
