Montana Green Expo Awards Every year, during the Montana Green Expo, we take time to recognize Montana's green industry professionals for their dedication and industry talent. MNLA members from across the state enter their best work into the Best of Montana Landscape Competition and Container Planting Contests, as well as nominate their peers for membership awards. The contest entries are judged by industry experts, with winning contestants announced at the annual Awards Banquet during the Montana Green Expo. The winners receive a plaque, announcement in their local newspaper and our social media channels, and bragging rights for the next year! These contests are always a highlight of the Awards Banquet; it's inspiring to see the great work that MNLA members have done! MEMBER-OF-THE-YEARSandy Perrin, Missoula County Extension - Missoula, MT The Board of Directors unanimously nominated Sandy Perrin as the 2025 MNLA Member-of-the-Year. Her dedication and long-standing commitment to serving both the industry and the MNLA is evident in everything she does. Sandy has been a wealth of knowledge in the Missoula community, has served in various roles with the MNLA, including Board Secretary, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Rocky Mountain Gardens at the new Missoula Co. Extension offices. Always willing to lend a hand, Sandy has made quite the impact on both the Missoula community and the greater MNLA family. PAST PRESIDENT RECOGNITIONPeter Hiel, Gardenwerks - Helena, MT Peter Hiel joined the MNLA Board of Directors in 2021, lending his expertise and quiet humor to the Board for the past 5 years. In his own words: "At the tender age of 12, Pete was forced into hard labor at Gardenwerks. Perhaps the lingering effects of Stockholm syndrome force Peter to share his father's passion for the green business or perhaps it is genetic, but his creative spirit and problem-solving skills are second to none in the industry as you will find out if you work with him. He is a Helena native who holds a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture with an emphasis in Landscape Design from MSU, but he still can not escape the working end of a shovel." We appreciate all you have done, and continue to do, for the Association, Peter. Thank you! |
